Morning everyone, probably a good place for an introduction.
Disco Mk1 TDi owner now fitted with a 3.9 V8 EFi, unimog diffs and axles, Fox Racing suspension plus a NP205 crawler box and a Magnum transfer case. I went for a short drive looking...
Decided that I need to check the oil pump sprocket bolt on my 2000 TD5. First job was to remove the front crossmember. Air chisel, breaker bar and 2 hours of fighting with rusty bolts and it's done. Knocked the captive nuts off with air chisel so...
I use satin black for most things, ive also used hycote bed liner paint on arches & other bits n pieces....looks good but need to watch when washing & polishing as some rags stick to it then its time to get the masking tape out.
You can buy textured paint in a spray can to replicate plastic parts.
You could try heating them up gently with a heat gun.
Or a good quality plastic reviving gel.
just wondering, is this from neutral, bang in drive then flooring it straight away? or already in drive, floor it and it does nothing for 2 seconds? do the revs jump up or like pause for 2 seconds?
Has to be said this is also par for the course with an auto, the torque converter has to power itself up, and there may be some electronics involved which might also be a factor, but not sure about that. @sierrafery will tell us.
You get used to...
I don’t think a 2” lift would affect the bars. They would just rotate slightly within the bush to compensate for the lift. I’m no expert on lifts though, so could be wrong.
I mean, you can cut the rest off so nothing is there and then they can’t test it so it won’t fail. But I’d be inclined to replace them cause it sways like a cowgirl on a buffalo without them, in my opinion. If you did replace, you can get +2 drop...
Ah well in that case it is angle grinder and flap disc to remove the last of the evidence, some black chassis wax and present for mot at another place.
Little update... it was by coincidence a failed wiper motor AND washer pump! Replaced the rear wiper motor and rear washer pump and all working again. Very strange they would both go at the same time!
I did notice that the rear washer pump...
Britpart, like many suppliers, are engaged in a race to the bottom in relation to pricing, rather than concentrating on quality.
I just replaced the suspension bushes on my lads 90, after 17 months. Britpart bushes totally worn out. Buy cheap...
That’s why I call britpart, “shi1part” cause that’s exactly what they all are sub par cheaply manufactured tat. Don’t get me wrong, they have a place if you HAVE to use a part as a quick fix but every sh1tpart item I’ve used has either broken or...
TBH, I have yet to see the significance of the letters and number. Unless it contains your initials of course.
Can't see why it is worth that money.
Loads here with NEM in, none so expensive...
With the help of one of the Reg Transfer sites I have tracked this down. Owner wants 9K for a plate I paid 180 quid for from DVLA originally.
Good luck fella……
😂😂😂
Charge or swap the battery first as an old/low battery can cause all sorts of electrical issues. Even the auto box will do as you’ve described. To source parts, I just go on eBay but there are a few on here people have recommended, I can’t...
Changing the one on my TD5 was a right sod, but then I chose not to empty the sump first. Putting the new one in at arm's length through the little access port under the wheel arch, it got very slippy!!
No ramp, obvs!;) 🤣
Also the flashing D in gear is to do with the autobox xyz switch. Also your battery is low, can you fully charge it or try a different one to rule it out?
