    Electronic ignition for 84 petrol

I xan confirm the Accuspark kit is really easy to fit! Without access to a timing light I soon got the old girl running again, as it turned out many degrees out but still ran. Just the squeeling alternator, noisy water pump, blown middle exhaust, fuel guage sender and rust to sort out now! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👍

    Electronic ignition for 84 petrol

I suspected the £30-£40 ones were going to be below par.. I saw lumenation while I was looking through but haven't seen Accuspark so will have a look now.

    Electronic ignition for 84 petrol

Hi all, my previously100% reliable 90 has broken down! The dizzy cap and points are shot so my fault! Is there a recognised 'best' electronic ignition conversion that I should look for? Cheers. Paul.

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

As I understand it the ethanol is a solvent which is also hydroscopic. So not only does ethanol have the ability to disolve most materials the fuel system is made of, it also causes condensation in fuel tanks leading to corrosion! I remember a similar problem with bio diesel years back disolving...

Why dosent my radio work? What 'is' that smell?

All the grass was in the hole the little bugger has bitten through the dash board. The radio was trashed. I assume it was a mouse house.

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

Thanks for your generous offer bud. I phoned up Devon 4x4 yesterday and for about £55 (ouch!) they can get me a rebuild kit and the two extra gaskets I need. I stripped the carb jets and float valve yesterday and they look perfect? Anyhow if I can't get the old girl running with the kit I will...

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

That's a really good point! I understand vehicles with metal fuel tanks are going to cause problems also?

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

Looking into this today it appears the carb service kit doesn't include the top gasket and they only supply one bottom gasket, not the one the engine side of the isolator block... So I need a kit plus two more gaskets! Just noticed a mouse nest poking out of the air vent and a small hole in the...

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

She's a working girl my old 90 is, no special attentions or baths for her! I have got clean oil and filter for her so I'm not all bad.... Cash is almost non existent presently, in fact she may have to become my daily driver if I can't get my old CRV through an upcoming MOT. So looking to get up...

I pulled my 84 90 CSW SWB 2.25 petrol out of the field!

Hi all, been a while since I checked in! My old 90 has been languishing in the field for 3 years so I woke her up yesterday! (After putting a blade on my strimmer to cut down the 5' thistles all round it!) Charged battery and wait for fuel pressure to build up and she roared into life and...

    Clutch noise MK1 oil burner

It's a bell engineering one. Why is the VCU suspected when I ask about clutch noise???

    Clutch noise MK1 oil burner

My Hippo's clutch has started 'whining' when I reverse? Almost sounds like the wheels are spinning on mud but it's on the dry? Am I looking at a new clutch?? Done a little bit of towing of late so that won't help I'm sure. Any way of confirming this before I book it in for surgery? Ta.

Non return valve in fuel system?

There is a manual primer before my fuel filter but I replaced that and they have a non return valve in them, I wonder how good they are though? I was thinking of placing a non-return valve tank end...
