Classic Hand brake stuck off?!?! How to release the expander?

Thanks, I'll batter into it t'morrow. The arm I was talking about is the bit that No5 is attached to outside the drum, the arm that the cable is attached to? Thanks again. Edit: Am I okay to tap the pivot rod in the expander from the shoe side?

What did you do with your Range Rover today

fired her up and let run to temp to check the rpm. Looks like the timing could be adjusted and the belts have come slack.

I would just like to say

Bit cooler today, but nice with a wee breeze. Gonna take the terrier down the field and along the river; it's been too hot for her to go far the last few days.

Classic Starting Woes...click-clunk ...no dash lights.

Okay dokey! We have a starting RR, although a bit lumpy. I worked through the ignition fault finding and this led me to the ignition switch. The plastic had crumbled a bit, so I got that sorted with some solder and isolated them from each other. Intermittent battery voltage to the starter was...

Can I jump the starter by putting a cable from the positive battery terminal to the positive on the starter and then jump to the signal line? It's a while since i've dome that.

Classic Starting Woes...click-clunk ...no dash lights.

About 3 weeks. I earthed from the negative post to the starter case and still nothing. I swapped the efi relay and nothing, still the same. The only thing i have fiddled with recently are the relays down in the drivers footwell when I was welding it.

Thnaks I'll do what you say and see what happens. All fuses seem good. I'm assuming the new starter is okay as it's out the box. It could be defective i suppose. I wonder if the ignition switch has crumbled?
