to fix or not to fix?

Hi. I was just getting my old 1972 S3 ready for sale (sad I know but I need a horse puller....). All tarted up when pop the clutch went. Currently she's all original - would you guys recommend I fix before sale or not? It's a pricey fix if it's done properly and the crossmember aren't cut off...

Zenith 36IV Accelerator Pump Ball Valve

Thanks. I did give it a good washout with cleaner but I'll leave it soaking for 24 hours and see what happens......

Zenith 36IV Accelerator Pump Ball Valve

Hi All. In process of trying to refurb a Zenith 36IV (idle hands and all that...). Seems ok in there -a bit gunged up but one thing has me stumped. The accelerator pump ball valve seems to be rattling around but I can't figure out how to get to it. I've taken out the piston (little plastic rod)...

    Farting Series 3

Good ideas. I'll try them both (starting with the condenser). Credit where it's due though I think the wife has solved the problem - 'if that's the noise that's bothering you just shut the bloody window!'. Fair enough!

    Farting Series 3

Yes it's petrol and it's had a weber fitted at some time before I got it. I'm sure it's popping more than it's used to. These days it's every time it goes downhill. It's only been doing short hops for the last 6 months so maybe I've got some carbon build up. Might just need a bit of a thrash (as...

    Farting Series 3

While the S2 is in bits and being slowly rewelded thanks to the wise words of other forum members I need some help with a S3 problem that's being going on for a few months......She's a 1972 SWB and she drives absolutely fine, plenty of power etc but when going downhill in gear with my foot off...

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Thanks all. I've ordered the ebay footwells and also replacement door pillars and feet from MM4x4. With a bit of luck all will be here by the end of next week (MM are waiting for stock) and I get get started. When the new BH is refurbed I'll transfer over all the fittings from the old bh. After...

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Thanks Dopey. I rang Dunsfold but they only had onside and they were £50 odd each. I'll ring Craddock's tomorrow and see if we're all talking about the same panel. I'm just going to ebay now to buy those footwells!

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Cheers Dopey. I'd seen these before but been a bit wary of ebay specials. If you've actually seen them and they're good I'll go for a pair. I don't suppose you have a line on wing front panels for S2 do you (just the small square ones at the front)? Previous hooligan owner has butchered...

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Thanks Andy. Their footwell looks a lot better than some I've seen. It doesn't have the rolled bottom plate but it looks sound. I think I'll give it a go. Cheers Lard

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Thanks Andy. I'd thought about knocking up a jig out of angle to help keep it all straight and I think it's probably the way to go (especially as I've got another old S2 bulkhead that I'd like to patch up after this one). Any ideas as to who makes the best replacement parts? Cheers Lard

S2 on the bench. New footwells and door pillars

Hi - haven't posted for while but now in need of advice again! I've taken the plunge and started a complete back to chassis rebuild of the S2. She looks like chitty chitty bang bang after a night on the meths at the moment. Bulkhead is out on the bench and needs new door pillars and footwells...

    No More Champions

I want to put a new set of plugs in the '72 Series 3 Petrol 2.25. The champion un12y recommended by the book doesn't seem to exist (or if it does I can't find it!) Can someone recommend a good spark plug (and if possible a good pplace to get them). Cheers Lard. Must go, something's frying......
