Sounds like a plan, either small file and file a tiny flat middle of needle or you can use Brasso to remove tiny amounts off till you get an improvement, could be lean at top end though and rich lower down, that would give black plugs if you're...
In the past where the vehicle has bogged down with a BDL needle has been in low RPM going up to mid-range RPM so maybe a bit off the part-throttle area.
Did you buy a new reservoir?
There is a small filter fitted in it - if it’s not been changed for a good time, it’s worth switching it for a new one when you change the fluid.
... that the wife just got a call from the hospital.
Her Mum (who they gave a GA to yesterday to work on her leg) is now today going downhill fast and she had better get there ASAP. Not looking good at all.
Mornin
Lovely sunny morning
Making something to change oil in power steering today, two bottles, some tube etc
Off to water plants before it gets too warm
Stay cool all :)
The e-assist is a big help without it I doubt that the cycling would be possible.
But, I do my best to keep the e-assist level low enough that I am also putting effort into the system against the resistance so that my muscles get a bit of work to...
...took the Mini out for a blatt round the town, no problems noticed. Will check the plugs later.
Also took the trike out and did a 10 mile loop around Canvey Island in the sunshine. :D
That's twice in just few days. :)
Mornin
Warm and sunny
Watered me plants early
Cleaning Freelander boot area today, get it nice for the road trip, noticed a handy 12v socket in there for me kettle :p
Chinese shooting stick arrived this morning, better quality than expected :)...
Thanks I'll drain some out.
Looks like its half a litre or so too much
Oil didn't go instantly black when I started it so that's a good sign
Next service will be easier now I know what I'm doing
Scotland / Ireland here I come :D :D
I just used 2 long socket extensions and a wobble drive at the filter to unscrew it, then lift it out from above. It's a daft place for the filter, but the engine wasn't designed for the Freelander. The filter is much more accessible in a Ford...
7 litres is too much.
They take just under 6 when drained, IIRC.
I think 6.8 for a dry fill.
You’ll need to remove some.
It’s about 1 litre between min and max on the dipstick.
... I saw the MIL in hospital this PM.
Not great, but brighter than last time.
Kept reporting to me that there were flies all over her bed sheets and occasionally that I had flies all over my face.
I kept telling her there were no flies and that...
