    What's this Landy worth?

Well maybe you're right, then. I should forget about a respray and just get it jet-washed, T-cut and waxed for 500 quid or whatever they charge these days. The interior is actually quite good, just rather grubby but that too would certainly clean up.

True that originality seems to be valued more highly than a fresh re-paint even if it's a pro job. But does the paint they used for these back in '89 lend itself to being polished (by which I mean T-Cut or similar abrasive cutting polish)?

£3,500 is the average of the guestimates so far: £1000, £1500 and £8000. £3,500 seems a bit on the low side?

    What's this Landy worth?

Yes, all the panels are original as is what's left of the paintwork which has gone very matte over the years. Some folks value originality and bang on about 'patina' but I certainly don't. If I bought it, I'd have to get it repainted and reliveried at least.

    What's this Landy worth?

The chassis itself is fine as it was replaced about 2 years ago. Bulkhead's been repaired. It's been through the IOM equivalent of an MOT and is road legal currently. Engine's sweet; gearbox is fine. A couple of swinging arms could do with replacing, though (corrosion).

It's the norm on the Isle of Man where it is.

    What's this Landy worth?

Hi all, I've been offered this 1989 V8 County 110 Safari by the widow of an old friend who died a while ago. I quite fancy a County but this one's a bit tired and scruffy as you can see from the picture. The shabby bodywork with rusty bits lets it down. Interior's not too bad and it appears to...

    Clutch Problem

That's probably the best way to do it, actually, if I get your drift correctly. You'd only need to cut a notch a few mil deep on the side of the handle of the spanner to get the necessary wriggle room to be able to turn those nuts 60 degrees (or one flat) at a time. Not as grim as it sounds as...

    Clutch Problem

No, pumping never made any improvement, it was all down to the twin nuts on the shaft of the master cylinder piston. Somehow the locknut had come loose and they'd both made their way up the shaft towards the MS, leaving about a quarter inch of play between them and the lever knuckle they bear up...

    Clutch Problem

Bingo! Well done, sir! That's precisely what's happened. They're only off about a quarter of an inch but it's enough to account for so much more travel on the clutch pedal. Thanks! :)

    Clutch Problem

You're the boss! We have a shower at the moment so I've come inside. Rotten BBC said it would be sunny and settled all week. Typical!
