HI All , i had a prang last year , N A F , and the oter party has agreed to have the damag repaired , my question is can i repair the damage myself , and claim the money from the other insurance co, ? any info or where to look or personal experiance would be greatley recieved

Hello all , i have just got home with my back door window wound down , now it wont come up , it is making noise ,i had a look and the wire that raises / lowers is snaped , does this need the whole assembly replacing ? or just the cable , looks like bike brake cable , ? is it an easy job ? thanks...
