    Engine bay rattle

Mine has exactly the same, pretty constant throughout the lower rev range. I was thinking tensioner aswell. More like an annoying low rumble from belt side of engine.

massive water leak from under inlet manifold

Well, completely wrong about the head gasket going, wish it had have been, probably would have been a lot easier if not a lot more expensive. Looks like I've not been keeping up with the coolant strength and have rotted through one of my core plugs from the inside. Of all places, the one right...

massive water leak from under inlet manifold

Hi all, does anyone know if there is a coolant pipe or some gasket that might be causing a huge leak under the inlet manifold on my 2003 TD5 Disco please. I tried to have a look today but without removing lots of metal it's very difficult to spot anything. I've a feeling it's the head gasket...

    ball joint replacement

Right then, both sets of ball joints done and finished, steering box replaced and going back for test tomorrow. The steering box was quite easy apart from having to remove the bottom radiator hose and moving the steel coolant pipework over to the nearside so the box could pass through the gap...

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. It sounds like the same kit I'm looking at. I've a full workshop to play with so no probs altering things. I expect it might be a bit of a git of a job but not worried too much yet, lol. I;ve watched the youtube vid and it's gonna help no end. I'll let you know how...

    ball joint replacement

Morning all, just a quick question. Has anyone bought and used one of the ball joint splitting kits for pressfit joints from ebay, they look ok but from a photo you can never tell. I've access to oxy acetelene so heat isnt a problem. I was gonna fabricate the tool myself but for 50 quid thought...

Looks Like I need a new compressor for my Disco 2

No cutting involved, just disconnect everything, fit new coils and plug in to diagnostics to turn off the dashlight. Still not sure where you stand regards insurance if it's a 7 seater, pretty sure Euro' rules it must be air assisted suspension.

trying to remove the egr pipe at the manifold

If you've rounded out the bolt then hammer in a slightly larger size Torx or Spline drive socket then remove as normal.

    Nanocom newbie - SLS problem!

Well, changed the Slabs last night, pain in the arse getting to all the nuts holding it on but done now. Time will tell if it's sorted the compressor problem but it has got rid of the intermitent 3 amigos so there was definately an issue somewhere.

    Nanocom newbie - SLS problem!

Can someone just verify something for me please. Are the Slabs units on Facelift Discos different to non Facelift? I thought they were all the same. The reason I ask is I've just bought one to sort out my over running compressor and didn't check what part no' it was. It gave the model as...

    open circuit injector..

Hi all, I've mentioned before that my 2003 TD5 engine runs like it's slightly out of balance at low revs. I've changed the wiring loom and cleaned the ECU plug ,opened the ECU to check for oil ingress, set all the rockers, done the seals and copper washers just about everything I can think of...

    Nanocom newbie - SLS problem!

I had a problem with mine setting heights using Snap on Solus, think you've got to leave it the specified time before pressing 'ok'. It's like when you run updates to ur laptop and have to restart, it the restart that writes the new code.
