Nanocom newbie - SLS problem!

Helping a mate replace his SLABS ECU today - all done just trying to calibrate SLS height as car sank to its bump stops when new ECU connected. Did it by raising left then right sides, pressed store settings, turned off ignition and waited 60 seconds, turned back on and the car sank onto its bump stops. Did this several times, then entered target ride height settings manually and pressed store heights, turned ignition off etc - same problem. Transport mode says disabled.. Any ideas? Assume when Nanocom says "to store settings to ECU, turn off ignition and wait 60 seconds" you can press "OK" before turning ignition off, and should leave Nanocom plugged in - shouldnt make any difference. Almost as if a) we cannot write to the new ECU, or b) the Nanocom is lying and we are in transport mode....

The part number of the new ECU is 000070, and the one we took out was 000150. Car is 53 plate...

What version of software are you running on the nanocom one of the versions did have the transport mode reversed. Make sure you are running the latest version
 
I had a problem with mine setting heights using Snap on Solus, think you've got to leave it the specified time before pressing 'ok'. It's like when you run updates to ur laptop and have to restart, it the restart that writes the new code.
 
Hi, I had a similar issue last year, but mine was when I replaced a faulty ride height sensor. In the end the only way I managed to sort it was to firstly disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then once reconnected I set the ride height using 'SLS Calibration' on the nanocom. Saved it then once you turn the ignition off unplugged the nano and also removed the terminals on the battery. Put the battery terminals back on and started the engine, it seemed to work for me, but then that might have been a fluke.

Apparently, sometimes the info the SLABS unit receives can be corrupt. I'm guessing your ride height sensors are ok ? I only ask because my n/s one when viewing the height via the nanocom, the reading was fluctuating and I found a corroded pin in the connector.

turned out he had been supplied the wrong part number SLABS ECU. He received the correct one, and we installed today. Set the SLS height and that seems ok, but now the ABS light, the SLS raise, SLS lower and Hill Descent lights are all on - and the Nanocom cannot find a fault to let us clear these lights. Frankly flummoxed...!
 
Are those warnings on with nanocom unplugged?... also what do you mean wrong part number SLABS cos they all must work after correct programming even if the latest modells are improved in the TC area, in the SLS side they are all the same... i'm beginning to suspect those suppliers and you are killing your nervs with all faulty ECUs

Yes - those lights are on with Nanocom unplugged.. Also, cannot raise the SLS with the button in the cab, or lower with the Fob. He was supplied a 000070, but was then told this was wrong and was sent a 500070...
 
As i said for the SLABS the part number will not make it not work or trigger warnings, the only difference is that the 500070 modell is improved to addapt the TC to the locked diff while the older modells can't and that's in the ABS management part of it, in the SLS area they are all the same and any of them must work on any D2 regardless of modell... so or there is some wiring issue on the supply or diagnostic line to thse SLABS or the second unit is fubar'd as well

Is it possible to set the height to levels that the ECU does not like and that could cause this chaos?! He has a 2in lift so set the heights to around 80 on each side...
 
i dont think that any height setting would trigger the ABS warning though there should be extensions fitted to sensors on lifted modells... are all the SLABS related fuses OK?(F11 engine bay, F28 interior)
 
Can someone just verify something for me please. Are the Slabs units on Facelift Discos different to non Facelift? I thought they were all the same. The reason I ask is I've just bought one to sort out my over running compressor and didn't check what part no' it was. It gave the model as compatible but now I'm doubting it. Thank you.

Well, changed the Slabs last night, pain in the arse getting to all the nuts holding it on but done now. Time will tell if it's sorted the compressor problem but it has got rid of the intermitent 3 amigos so there was definately an issue somewhere.
