Probably the belt tensioner, take the belt off and give them a spin :)
-
Changed oil and filters and fitted 4 lovely new insa turbo tyres :)
-
Fitted my new (to me) ird, broke the cast bracket on the end of the ird so fabricated a new one. :)
-
I have managed to source a used IRD thats in decent condition, I have just ordered a new VCU (the one that was on had only done 30000 miles bought from bell engineering and is now no good  ) and a new set
of tyres are on the way. Just need to have a peek at the rear diff and see...
-
Fitted new driveshafts on the front which got rid of one strange noise only to reveal another noise which turned out to be the ird

Thanks everyone it was 36mm lol
-
No mines bigger than a 32mm :\

As the title suggests, does anybody know the size of the drive shaft nut on a freelander 1, L series?
Thanks in advance :)
-
The K series is a good engine its the position of the thermostat that causes its problems, do the thermostat mod and you should be trouble free :)
-
You dont need any ramps or special tools to whip a prop off :)
-
you just need to bridge out the relay, no need to run diagnostics

I fitted a new (to me) abs unit, I did exactly what I've described and it worked perfectly, I bled it twice just to be sure. :D
-
I would be a little cautious running the pump for too long and it wont bleed your master cylinder and feed pipes. I would just bleed as normal after you've primed the unit :)
-
I used K seal in mine about 18 months ago and its been fine, heater matrix looks like a right ball ache of a job :/

Have you checked your engine mounts?
