Hi guys, i know noises can be a bit tricky to diagnose but i thought id ask the question anyway just incase anyone had the same issue.
When driving i take the my foot of the excelerator to change gear and i get a clicking noise, it sounds like its coming from the back of the car somewere but i cant be sure. It seems to have got worse over the last couple of weeks could it be a rear diff mount possibly ?. I dont know were to start looking so any advise would be appreciated.

Chris

Stones in the tyres?

Does the clicking only happen at speed?
Or certain speeds?
Does is vary with the speed yer travelling at?
Does it happen more when turning?

The clicking only happens when I take my foot of the excellerator to change gear, when I get up to speed say about 40 mph and come off the excellerator it's very faint I can hardly hear it. I'll check that mount out tomorrow as iv gotta do the gear oil anyway. It's fine going over bumps, speed ramps etc it's just when I take my foot of I get this annoying click sound.

Thanks for the replys by the way, really appreciate it :)

I have the same clicking noise from the rear when I change gear too, it happens when I press the throttle after gear change, it seems like there's a bit of slack being taken up somewhere if that makes any sense.

remedy is first of all to get under the car and physically wobble all the transmission joints.

CVS and UJS can click allright if worn

Well i changed my gear oil today nice and easy. I checked eveything under the car and the only thing i could see wobling was the gear selector fork and there is another support rod right by it which conects to the gear box and the bush is loose on that. Any ideas were i can get one of these bushes and a selector fork

Hi kev thanks for reply, iv just put a separate thread on here 'BUSHES' lol. I thing that's what it might be cous I do get a rumbling through the car when ticking over as well. I'm struggling to find original black rubber bushes at the mo. Any ideas
