I've left the front passenger seat in as I had enough room with just the rear split seats out.
I may have to remove it in the future if I need the extra space lengthwise.

So if I test the VCU and there's nothing wrong with it are you still going to make that claim? I mean what time period/mileage are you going to specify because really what you're claiming means the damage starts as soon as there's not 4 identical tyres fitted.
My F1 has done 135,000 miles on...

Okay, I'll have a go at the test and see what's what.
Thanks for your advice chaps.

What is the expected outcome of me doing that?

It works obviously because I have 4WD and no noise/vibration issues.
Whether it works 100% I do not know but I am not in the habit of testing things that appear to be working properly. Just like I wouldn't remove my water pump or alternator and test it.

It had a mix of different tyres when I bought it three years ago.
It now has two sets of two different tyres fitted earlier this year.

I wouldn't test anything that seems to be working ok

Thanks for reply.
I will do that.

My Freelander 1 td4 built in 2003 has done over 140,000 miles and still original VCU.
Should I be worried that it's done twice the mileage it's supposed to do?

Thanks for the reply. I read elsewhere that you have to disconnect battery completely and wait 30 mins before removing connection to seat belt pre tensioner.
Did you do that? I don't want it exploding on me!

Hi, need to remove front passenger seat for a couple of weeks.
I am unsure what to do about the seat belt pretensioner.
Should I remove it from the car altogether or should I connect the electric plug and leave it in the passenger footwell?
I'd prefer to remove from the car but unsure what...

Hi, does the front passenger seat need to be fitted for the MOT?

I drove to Halfords in Stratford upon Avon but it's closed down. Notice on the window says they've moved to Leamington Spa.
Luckily for me, LEAMOCO were open which is where I should have gone to first anyway.

Yes, I recently replaced my brake pipes and they were crusty exactly where you say. The clip mounting the two rear pipes to the chassis rail is a muck and moisture trap.
