john t, If I were you I would still pop out the fuel pump and check the screen at the bottom of the pump body. I got hold of some lousy gas a few months ago and it gave me fits until I pulled the fuel pump apart and washed the screen out. Its a 2 hour job, and I think it is worth the effort.

bigshane, I see what your mode of thinking is there, but I can't see how the exhaust system would cause a head gasket blowout. My personal feeling on the HGF problem is that this is cooling, more properly - coolant system - related. I could be wrong...
