The lock motor had failed in the unlocked position hence the fuse 18 method would work. I did also take the locking solenoid out and clean and lubricate that but I don't think that had any bearing on the problem.

No great problem though it didn't seem too bad. It could be the next seal down but didn't touch that as it seems like a more difficult job. Cleaned round the top with carb cleaner undid the 4 bolts (3 torx and 1 security bolt), removed top, hooked seal out with a pin. Then back together.

The glow plugs I put in last year were NGK and 4 out of 6 had gone. I have now changed them to BOSCH and all is back well again. Leak offs changed to proper stuff and top seal of the FIP changed. Thanks Wammers / Datatek.

The ones I put in last year were Delphi I think, so if they are gone I think I'll use something else! I'll let you know.
