    Headlights cutting out.

see my recent post. I found my headlamp connectors had melted a bit around the earth (black wire). Looked OK on the outside, but looking into the socket -> all warped and benkled. I too had strange works/doesnt work, sometimes works when you flash them. Then suddenly - nothing!

Not again .... headlights 62 plat puma 110

GOT IT! Having checked the fuses stripped the column "always the switch" - and put in a new switch checked the earths went on a 'swap the relay' game etc I finally pulled the headlamps off looking for a broken wire/connection etc. Guess what?? The connector onto the back of the headlamp had...

Not again .... headlights 62 plat puma 110

Headlights - dip and full no longer work (but the blue dash indicator does!) The side lights, indicators, self-levelling motors in the headlights all work as expected - rock the lights and the wee motors come into play automatically. Anyway I checked the earths - as best I could - the 4 fuses...

puma 110 - cranks, runs until you let the key back to neurtal

Yep, it works fine. I have got to page 72 at present. It is now dark and I will continue tomorrow. Thanks.

puma 110 - cranks, runs until you let the key back to neurtal

Puma 110 '09. I have been through a bunch of other threads in here - battery, fob, immobiliser etc. None work ;-( My puma 'starts' when it is being cranked, but stops running the instant you come off the solenoid position of the switch. The fob seems to work OK - alarm goes on, off, lights...

new member - LR110 ex utility company - so a bit 'strange'

I can, but I suspect that the import/export regulations into Europe will be terrible. I cant even put them in over the Irish Border since Europe has strange specific rules on cold meat and on sausages. I expect the border guards wont understand the fact that sleeping haggis dont come under the...

PTO drives a PUMPand the pump drives the PTO. The PTO is not a "driect from front of engine". But I am unaware of the different makes and models. Any clues where to look. My google skills dont show anything relevant.

    Another valuation question

I have never claimed against the NFU, but I have had cars stolen and never returned when insured by other companies. Some were only weeks on insurance and I still had the purchase invoice. Never has any company paid the sum that they they were told when they asked me "what is it worth?"...

    Another valuation question

I think you should speak to the insurance company about the purpose of the "value" that they are asking you for. In my experience this is (at best) the max they will consider paying out given a set of impossible events happen - in practice they find what they claim is an equivalent vehicle and...

I have a croft - a very small farm. I think the LR will spend its time hauling things about in the peat. Time to time it will be on the road with a wee digger in tow. The tool boxes and storage will be fine for hiding the haggis as they hatch. The winch may just save me getting the tractor...

    hydrauic winch

I have a new to me LR110 2009. It is ex electric utility. It has a winch. By poking around I have found that there is a PTO to a hydraulic pump. The pipes head to the front via a control valve for 'forward' and 'reverse'. The pipes then visit a hydraulic motor bolted to the chassis and that has...

Insurance - about £400 p.a. - I am an OAP fart, driven forever, never had an accident, not even a speeding ticket. Goodness knows how that is the case ;-)

Auction purchase; Looked after by inhouse team I guess. MOTs for the past decade have been faultless. But absolutely no service records, but a pristine user manual (and radio code) but no key security code. Clearly a "no comeback" sale. But it was cheap - not as cheap as your nail fungus...

Recent punt at an auction. Runs fine but has lots off addons - lights, winch, 2 way radios, roof rack ladder etc..... Lots of bits I dont understand. See www.csp-partnership.co.uk/landie for some close ups of my current problems!
