My 2004 4.4 V8 Autobiography has started developing an occasional strange burning smell and the odd waft of smoke from the front left wheel arch. Smells like transmission fluid. Any body else had this?. Everyhing is working okay smells like somthing dripping onto the exhaust.

Got the car up on a ramp and there was mud around the front of the prop, after another good jet wash underneath the vibration has now gone. So if you dont want your Range Rover to vibrate dont go offroad with it:confused:

Wow. just called local stealer and the recal for the front prop has not been carried out. They booked the car in straight away with no questions to carry out the modification free of charge. My faith in Land Rover has returned( for now).

Thanks for that alan i actually finished work up there yesterday and spent 3 hours jet washing the car including removing the wheels so that doesnt seem to be the cause. The vibration seems to be coming from the engiine bay. I suspect it may be the dreaded gearbox failure starting to occur...
