Thank you for your replies. I think the non genuine brake calliper mounting brackets are the issue. Compared to the genuine part the castings are very rough and uneven. They need grinding down all over to get the things to fit.
Once you grind various bits down it fits ok behind the stub axle...

hello
I was hoping someone might be able to offer a bit of advice.
I’ve just replaced the brake disc, pads, callipers and wheel bearings on the salisbury axle of my 110.
Everything was going fine until I fitted the callipers..they go over the disc… ..just… but the disc is hard up
Against one...

Hello
I have a defender 90 and earlier today was changing the seven bolts that hold the chrome swivel to
The axle tube. Unfortunately one of the bolts sheared off. Is it possible to get access to the sheared
Bolt by removing the other 6 bolts and separating the swivel assembly from the end of...

Hello again
I hope you don’t mind another couple of quick electrical questions.
On the bulkhead behind the seats there is a twin alternator control unit and a large fuse which I think is called a fast Fuse.
As I plan to have only the vehicle alternator I have disconnected the wiring from these...

Hello
Thank you for reply and the good advice.
I do plan to hang onto it long term.
I think I may get the aux alternator refurbished and refit to keep the charging system complete.
the vehicle is completely standard as it’s just been released from the army and i don’t plan to
Add anything to...

Hello
I am hoping that someone can let me know if I doing things the right way on my wolf 90 300tdi.
I am used to Series vehicles so having so much stuff under the bonnet is a bit daunting.
It’s a FFR 24V vehicle with twin alternators, two vehicle batteries under the seats and a load of wiring...

Good evening.
Have just noticed that when you press the brake pedal on my 110 that the rear tail light goes but the brake light does not illuminate. Checked the fuse box and found fuse number 4 blown. Fuse 4 also has the reversing lights on it. It an ex military 110. Without using the brake...

Hi
I have recently purchased an ex military defender 110 with the 5 speed lt77 gearbox.
I’m not sure if it has a problem or not with the gearbox.
When going into first you have to be very precise otherwise you end up in 3rd or its won’t go in at all. Also the amount of movement on the stick...

Hello
I have a Tithonus defender 110 project without any sort of top to it. Just the multi hoop roll cage.
If you want to fit a soft top to it do you need still the front aluminium hoop that would be found
On a civvy defender.
I know the civvy aluminium hoops have brackets on to attach the...

HI Nick and Huddy
THank you for your replies. I don't think she will fit in with a hood stick set on.
BIkini top it is then and pray for good weather. At least I can keep her inside.
Thanks for taking the time to do some measuring Nick much appreciated.
Noticed that you are on Islay. I used to...

Hi Nick
THanks for that.
I had a local metal fabrication company reduce the height of my roll bar by a few centimetres.
This means that it will drive into the garage. Garage access 197cm high max.
Mine measures 66cm from the top of the bar to the top of the bulkhead.
Are your hood hoops higher...

Good afternoon
I have just purchased a 1994 defender 110 project. It's completely open top apart from a roll cage and the
Windscreen. As it is,it wil just, with a couple of inches to spare, make it into my garage.
I am looking to fit a canvas top to it but think the hoops may just foul the top...

Its sorted...well seems to be.
Cleaned up the small wire spade terminal on the starter motor and it started first time.
May just be luck but I have started the car 3 further times after leaving it different lengths of time
And no problems.
Let's see how long it lasts.
Can't wait to see what...
