First place I took it was an MOT only place. He refused to test it because a track rod end 'might have gone' and the brake pads are worn (they were half way through their life!) There are no other MOT only places around here :mad:

Aye, check the pipe joint under the power steering fluid bottle. That's a typical one for leaking. As for the oil from the oil cooler pipes, he might of changed them but used the old seals again. If they haven't long been done then you should have no probs undoing them to change the seals...

Bolt was freely moving but pipe was rusted to it, holding the bolt from turning far............pipe split in the end. Oh well, just another new thing to buy and fit and heal from.

I've bought a rad today that's identical to the one on my 300tdi in every way apart from. On the one on the car, the oil cooler pipes slot into an outward sticking thread with a bolt to hold them on and on the one I've bought there's no outward thread but an inward one. Is it a 300tdi rad...

Can't get the bottom oil cooler pipe off the radiator without breaking it :mad: If I turn the bolt the pipe starts to turn with it and is starting to pinch. Do you have any fail proof methods with this or is it just a cut it off and buy more case? 300tdi by the way

Neah you only need the reg and last mot number. Did it myself last night to find the exact sections in the manual that he had failed things under. Anyhow - He gave me an advisory for a slight blowy exhaust. If I get some of that exhaust wrap tape stuff on it, will it be passable mot wise?
