That's interesting to know. I thought that they (the bearings and races) came as one. I did all 4 wheels on mine but didn't think to check the different part numbers. Another lesson learned.

The best thing I ever bought was an oil suction "tank". Not used on the Disco, but the mercedes with the oil filter at the top of the engine means that I can change the oil and filter in about half an hour, very clean also.

I left all four off when i replaced the wheel bearings last year. I've have noticed no difference, and they are a ridiculous price for what they are.

I have Thule roof bars on my D1. I bought them from ebay IIRC I paid 80 quid for a pair, then picked up another pair for 50. Solid as a rock. The second pair, again if memory serves, came from a transit van that was being broken. So may be worth looking at van roof bars, could be cheaper.
