A work lamp.you should have some holes at the back where a work lamp has been maybe some riverts there instead.Also may find a relay in one of the back light boxes.

just do what I do and stick the baby seat in the front mrs in the middle seat or the back with the dogs

Had the same problem on my TD5. replaced the contacts and plunger cost me £20 and 1hours graft.

give the dash a good wack first to see if they come back on.

I got a 1999 TD5 3 months ago and it leaks from exactly the same places

the starter on my TD5 died the other day just kept getting a clicking noise.got a new plunger and contacts for £20 sorted it out and it only took 40min to get out and refit.

thanks for the replies just want it for a bit of security had the land rover broken into on the weekend.they pulled the dash off and had the wires off the ignition.but I had taken the relay for the glow plugs out so I think thats how they couldnt take it.

does any one know where I can get a TD5 starter repair kit my plunger and contacts are f***ed.

I got one for my defender the other month and it came with the lot.

thanks for the replys.had a look and cant see the timing cover breather I think the one in the pic is a 300 tdi.ill look into the plugs. thanks matt
