New camshaft - how easy to change?

Looking to fit a new camshaft for something a bit warmer such as an H180 and some tubular manifolds to my 96 3.9 Disco! Done a bit of reading, looks and sounds relatively easy to do, are there any pitfalls/things etc I need to be aware of? Thanks Errol

    Speedo not working

My speedo on the D2 has just stopped working!! No warning lights or anything on the dash to suggest a problem! Ive read that it is an electronic not cable speedo and the transducer is on the side of the transfer box, however there is also a suggestion that the system takes it road speed from...

    1.8 K series head rebuild

ok thanks! IIRC I didnt take the crank pulley off to check the timing marks, this potentially means that the cams will be in the correct position but not the crank. So put back together, move the crank to correct position (assuming its not already there), set cams to correct postion, refit...

    1.8 K series head rebuild

i think so, just trying to remember after all the work at the weekend? If not then if it is set up according to the manual will this affect the timing as a result of the crank not being in the correct position?

    Overheating Freelander

Hi all, The ever reliable (?) 1.8 that we have has been absolutely fine, it does have a multi layered head gasket........until today! Lots of bubbling water from the expansion tank, cant see any leaks around the cylinder head, however the temp gauge does not appear to move from the middle...

New disc and pad swap, cant move wheel!

Its not had new discs and pads in my ownership before, and not sure about the wheels, believed to be all original!!

New disc and pad swap, cant move wheel!

Its as if the pads are too thick as they determine the position of the caliper on the guide pins in relation to piston on the back of the inboard pad. I've had the vernier gauge, inside/outside calipers, run out gauges all sorts to no avail! I'm not going to take it to a garage tho1
