No I have not. I had this problems before confused:D. I just came across this one and wanted to let him know how I got mine started (sort off, a bit funny looks yesterday when in the supermarket and lifted the bonnet to start the engine, or is that normal for a bonnet to be up on a P38:lol:)...

When I turn switch I can hear relay clicking when turned to starter motor position.

yes all checked to the point of cutting the links and inspecting between the boards, all ok no signs of dry joints or melting or burning.

Tried all relays, and all fuses have been checked (metered out) all ok, just not turning over on key.

Tried different relays and removed fuse box, stripped down, parted boards, remade joints all ok on boards, still no joy. So no idea now.

Did you manage to get this sorted, sounds like the same problem for me. I managed to get it started by removing the cover on relay 16 starter motor and turned ignition on and pressed relay contact and it started. It just does not start on the key so just have to find out what it is now.

I have managed to start the vehicle, tried all things, cables, looked at fuse box, dismantled fuse box nothing found. As it has been snowy here and have no garage I was waiting for the sun to shine and a little less easterly wind (bloody cold) to put the fuse box back on etc. Anyway did this...

I will try my other meter just to compare. I have taken off battery and charging at present, and thanks for answering the large cable question.

Funny thing this morning I put the meter on the terminals and it was reading 14.45v, when door opened it dropped down a bit and when ignition turned on it went rapidly down to 11.87v. The battery is a yuasa cargo 115ah 1000a. I will put it on charge and see.

Sorry should have put this in last time, when ignition turned over voltage shows 0.02v on this terminal (eyelet terminal). When ignition off should the big cable on the solenoid have volts in it (it shows 11.89v) when ignition off.

Hello ovalandrover, no clicking on solenoid, will look at voltage drop, lights dim on gearchange display and hevac goes blank. will see if light stays on after 1 min on gear shift.

I disconnected neutral terminal and battery reads 12.3v, connect neutral back and it reads 11.9v. Will check earth straps on engine tomorrow.

Hello datatek, I will check battery volts again, don't seem to have a faulty alternator I suppose I can check this when it is going. As said new battery 3 months ago and a Yuasa one.
