YES IT IS POSSIBLE, I changed from a cat to a straight thru pipe recently, and was told I had to drop the crossmember, DON'T just undo the 3 flange bolts and with a bit of perseverance wriggling and twisting the cat pipe L&Right it came out through the front without dropping the crossmember...

The panels I need to remove are the small ones that go round the corners under the headlamps but slightly overlap the edge of the grill trapping it. So these have to come off first and there are no self tappers in sight. So how are these held on???????

I intend to put a new electric fan on my 97 300dti behind the grill, but to get the grill off I need to remove the small panels at either side and I am not sure wether they are held with clips or bolts or what. I do not want to force them in case they crack. Any help welcome on how to safely...

The only thing to worry about is having the same circumference of tyre ( distance round the around the outside) not the wheel diameter, and then all the wheels will be covering the same distance. If your stuck just measure round the outside of the tread with a tape to match them up. Mick.

I have a decent 97 Auto 300TDI with 121,000miles but have been offered a good 99 TD5 Auto with 97,000 miles and am undecided wether to have a change or not. Both are good motors, but would I be stepping up changing to a TD5, or would I be buying more future problems. Anybody experienced both...

Does anyone know what the pressure of oil is in the auto/gearbox oil cooler when driving. My pipes are starting to rust, is it possible to replace them with high pressure rubber hydraulic pipes. they look difficult to get at to replace.???

I thought hydraulic oil was also a veg oil, to stop damage to rubber seals etc. If so why not try it out.
