I may take you up on that offer Datatek, me and auto electrical works don't always see eye to eye shall we say. ;) That said I will have a look at Rave. Where does the temperature sensor go/fit? I rightly or wrongly assumed that it would be in the cooler.

I will definitely be replacing the cooler for one with a fan, I assume the wiring will need to be retro fitted somehow?

Its an R reg 1997 There is no dipstick on the gearbox and nor is there a fan on the cooler.

When the filler nut was removed, about 2 liters came out of that... That's interesting about a fan on the oil cooler, it doesn't have a fan that I've noticed, I would definitely like one there though if possible?

No, the oil is a dark red colour. When comparing new oil with the stuff that's in, there is a difference, as in the used is darker but its definitely not black. Prior to this, all fluids had been changed, probably less than 500 miles ago.

Thanks wammers. You've just saved me a few quid and a few more headaches. I really don't want to give up as the chassis on her is very solid and it doesn't have the corrosion either in the electrical connections that a lot seem to suffer from.
