Have you looked at the throttle control valve?? my 4.0 se pet did the same mind you she does have a mind of her own but when i had it tested it was showing low voltage .

Thanks Bigstoo. Ive been on to me garage and they going to get the starter motor in for me as its got a damm alen key bolt in the top bolt hole. Ive told them about the coolant loss and ill compression test it before it goes in. Many thanks

Cheers mike I have used a discharge tester on the Bty and that indicated the Bty is goosed. Ive also tested it on a multi meter which shows 12.39 volts but drops to 8 Volts when i turn on some of the electrics. I will folow you advice and start with changing the Bty first. Many thanks jules

lol Charlotte no you aint dumb. I only took it uo by about half a mil because when the header tank was pressure tested the return was blocked by solid deposits of anti freeze. Ibe had no probs since and she runs like a dream with all pressures correct Jules
