Depends on the carry unit. Some of them have a flexi centre in order to push the bike and secure it into position then lifts back up and pin slots in place.
Seen a guy get away with lifting one wheel at a time (non flexi rack). Once the front wheel is up put a strap round the bike to stop it...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh ... so we have had lots of rain and the 3 amigo ABS lights then 1 hour later the brake warning light lit up like a christmas tree this morning.
I plan to start with the ABS sensors as the parking break switch has no effect and fluid is good.
Will OBD2 diagnostic kits pick up...

Happy I came across this post.
Heres my dilemma ....
I have a Disco 2 TD5 with air sus on the rear. My mx bike rack (similiar to dave cooper) is 2 wide which takes 2 x MX bikes top and tailed. I hope to mount a KTM 250 and KTM 450 (4 stroke) onto the rack however both bikes weigh around 120kgs...

Similiar windscreen issue with my disco2. Driving along at 65mph and the windscreen top trim/finisher started smacking the windscreen before blowing over the roof.

Jonny,
Thanks for your post. Yesterday i noticed passenger side airbag deflated whilst i was out. It had been parked up for 1 hour however before hand it had been sitting for 3 days.
I turned her over and used the raise button then pressed it again which seems to bring the rear end back to...

So its been a while since the last post but thought id share my experience.
The 3 chimes happen everytime i start up my 04 TD5 along with a noise from the brake pedal. If the pedal is under pressure you will feel a cranky resistance for no more than a split second.

Jack it up and chalk wheels leaving yourself enough room to get underneath with a few socket extentions, I used a long bar for leverage. I sprayed penetrating fluid on first as the bolts looked pretty rusty. Be careful you dont round them off.
If you have a helping hand like I did, get them to...

Take wheel off and have a look. If the d4 is fitted with disc protector plate it may have come loose.
Also have a look for even ware on the disc and pads you should find your problem .
If not buy a good old D2

Winny,
Had no problems fitting mine (didnt remove anything).
What set up are you fitting out of curiosity?
I have a stainless downpipe and centre pipe with a standard tail pipe and back box which is now blown a few holes.
Around £40 for a replacement but just purchased a side exit straight...

Any recommended fluids other than the LR stuff.
I was hoping i could pick some stuff up from halfords this week.
Would it be suitable to use castrol atf?
Im preparing my d2 for the winter and done all the oils other than steering, ace and collant.
I plan on changing the ace & steering using...

Fellas,
Today I got rid of what was left of those horrible looking rubber side steps from my 04 disco 2.
Looking at it now I fancy kitting it out with:
Roofrack
Side exit stainless exhaust
Roof lights
If you are selling any exterior bits and bobs please let me know
