Buy the kit, if you are off roading it will knock it out every time.

Presumably you are aware that this is caused by your tyres pointing in at the front, causing the outside edge to lead which causes premature wear on the outside. If the wheels were pointing too far out the inner edge would wear. You need to adjust your wheels to point a bit more outwards.

TBH, as long as your surfaces are clean I didn't notice much difference.

My local garage charged me £350 for a timing belt/kit change on a VW Golf so around the same for your Landy I suppose.
