Are these any good have seen these and they are not to far from me do you just pay £60 for the first time with the bottle filled then £36 for refills.

If you mean the hobbyweld.
I'm on my 3rd cylinder and haven't had any problems with them.
Keep the cylinder for years and pay nothing other than the original deposit, then all you pay for is the refill.
If you decide to give it up, get your cash back.
I paid £50 for mine Ive had it so long.

Co2is fine for chassis welding and can actually aid penetration

Argon mix is better on thin panels , i find less spatter and less blow through,

I have an empty boc argoshield bottle in my garage in aberdeen if its any good to anyone ? I dont have a boc account (never have no idea how i got the bottle) and just use hobbyweld.

Check the details closely before putting down the 'deposit' on one of the rent-free cylinders, as, on some of them, the 'deposit' expires.

Also, the cost of the fill alone can almost be what BOC would charge on a y-size with a years rental.

...have a look at this thread on the mig welding forum -

BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer | MIG Welding Forum

BOC did (do) a home users tariff. I put all the numbers i could find into a spread sheet, and, unless youre making a cylinder last, IIRC, over 2 years, then the volkszone deal is the cheapest option.

(of course, i dont care who you go with though! : )
