Hi
can any one tell me how to prevent too ware on the outside of my BF Goodrich nud tyres......I am getting less than 10k miles use out of them. Taken it to 2 garages and both of them said they wouldn't touch it as its been raised.

buy your own alignment tools ? tis what i did in the end after garages making a mess.

got a camber gage from gunson(not much use for a landy) and a trackace laser gauge for the tracking - lots of use on the landy.

Presumably you are aware that this is caused by your tyres pointing in at the front, causing the outside edge to lead which causes premature wear on the outside. If the wheels were pointing too far out the inner edge would wear. You need to adjust your wheels to point a bit more outwards.

but by how much is the question..... thats where the gauges come in....

yes you can get it close with string and 4 axle stands and a couple bits of pipe....

but with the gauges you can get it pap on . and at 600 quid for a set of BFG muds in a decent size ill take the 50 quid hit on the gauge.

Tire wear can also be caused by ####ed bearings / swivels / suspension.... thats where i like my camber gauge as they can highlight a wheel on the cock.

No need for floor swivel plates, just use two glossy magazines.

Plus as its a live axle vehicle lifting it will make no difference to the normal road running condition ie tracking as 95 percent of your driving is in a straight line.
Get tracking set up and swap tyres front to back.
