    K-Seal with LPG

Think what you like, All I'm stating is that it does work and no, I have no connection with whoever makes the stuff. Yes, a well maintained and looked after coolant system does not need it and I don't just stick the stuff in as a matter of course but when I have been faced with the choice of a...

    K-Seal with LPG

Chances are it's just an O-ring and can be repaired but I do run with K-seal in my engine even though I don't have any known leaks and it's never caused any problems, Never leaked any water either! I used one once as a quick fix to a 3.9 V8 that had a leaking core plug on the back of the block...

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Your right Alan, I guess you are paying for the development costs rather the costs of the goods. I'll let you know how it goes as it says the ECU "Learns" the engine over a few weeks so it may get even better yet once it realises I have a couple of other modifications fitted. I must be lucky...

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Cheers Alan :D I've just did exactly as you suggested. Opened both ECU's next to each other on the bench and everything looked identical apart from 2 chips with Tornado stickers on the top so carefully removed the Lucus plastic covers on my one and prised out the original chip. Carefully...

    Cleaning sticky park brake

Ahhh, Sorry, I see what your saying, there is an adjuster on the drum as well as the cable. To be honest I just cranked up the cable a bit so I'll back that off again and adjust the shoes properly this time! Thanks for your help. :) Nice looking aircraft by the way. :) Craig.

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Got the ECU, Al the codes match and the sticker on it says it is a "Tornado" modification and was done by James French 4x4. Looks exactly the same as the one sold by RPI. I'll let you know if I swap it over and notice a difference! Craig.

    Cleaning sticky park brake

I have adjusted mine to give a good hold on about 3-4 clicks of the brake. and it fully releases when off so assumed that was good adjustment? Craig.

    Cleaning sticky park brake

Mine does exactly the same thing but only if you put it in drive before releasing the brake so it seems to me that it only happens when load is applied to the brake expander. I was going to take the drum off and clean everything out, The adjustment is fine on mine and the cable is perfect. I...

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Just to answer a few questions, Yes, I'm pretty confident it's a 4.6 ECU, I saw the vehicle it came out of and a friend has bought the engine too which has 4.6 cast in the crank. It is a Gems type EFI System. I'm going to pop over there tonight and grab the ECU so I'll check what the sticker...

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Cheers guys Didn't think it would be as easy as unplugging it and swapping over! I have a useful, Friendly Land Rover dealer nearby so will take it there and swap over in their carpark, just in case...... :-) Actually they might be able to take a look at my BECM as well and see if there is a...

    Changing P38 Engine ECU

Hi Chaps I have a 1997 P38 4.6 Range Rover and it runs just fine really but the other day I was offered another engine ECU from a scrap vehicle that had been chipped. The ECU has a sticker on the side from a recognised Land Rover specialist (Although I can't for the life of me remember who it...

    P38 central locking

Cheers guys The test was done with the BECM disconnected so that's good. :) I have taken the top off the BECM before and saw all the relay's in there but couldn't decide if any off them have any function to the locking. There are more relays in the door outstations so figured they do the job...

    P38 central locking

Hi Chaps I have a 1997 Range Rover and the central locking has an issue. :( It all started a while back when the left front door solenoid started making a whirring noise as it was being locked. It still worked fine though so I kind of ignored it for a while until it stopped working completely...

    MOT Today ( FAILED..##!!)

Just thought I'd mention that I polybushed my P38 with genuine polybush orange coloured ones and really wish I hadn't bothered. The ride got noisier, harder and they do not last very long at all. In fact I had to changed the Panhard rod bushes after one year and 2000 miles and again the year...

    Ripply P38 Rear Bumper fixes?

If you need it, Your welcome to come and collect it. I see your not far away as I'm only in Dorking. I'll give you a hand to swap it over too if you want. I used a line of Wurth Adhesive + seal (Polyurethane adhesive basically) along the top of my one when I reassemled it and then slid the...
