I've just read that an auto locksmith could rebuild the original ignition lock so then we won't have to worry about programming keys etc Another page said to put another ignition barrel in and swap the chip from the old key into the new key ? Has anyone done this ?

Hi everyone I have a freelander 2004 td4 . Last night we went to go out , the separate fob unlocked the car as usual but the key would not turn at all in the lock , not a bit .. We called the AA and he informed us we need a new barrel I've spent the best part onpf the morning on the phone...

We got just under £900 for our ' engineless' 2001 v6 on Ebay earleir this year .. The body was immaculate with 4 new scorpio tyres also ..I think the buyer shipped it to Poland :p

Its deff not a fan blowing .. I didnt listen to where exactly it was coming from as it was piddling down :5bwilly_nilly: But i will next time it happens .. It makes this sucking sound for about 15 secs as soon as the engine switches off ..

2004 td4 freelander Bought the car just over a week ago now and a couple of times when we have got home and turned the engine off ( only short trips ) the engine seems to be making a suckin sound ( cant think of another way to describe it really ) Its not the engine fan colling it down , ...

I wont name names but we live in Eastleigh and the garage that eventually did the job was in Derby . So a lot of miles was spent also .. We live and learn :mad:

Oh we tried to love her lol .. Head gasket went 1st , had that done , back and forth to the garage for 6 months with issues then she shot a piston through the bottom and had a little fire , then we paid to have another recon engine in her and she ran for another 6 months maybe before we were...
