P38 Oil leak - Help with parts id (Pic included)

Cheers for the replies, I gotta be first to admit I'm out of my depth here. Don't suppose you work for a garage and wanna do the work do you? Or a rough idea on labour time would be good so I don't get ripped off by a garage. Thanks

P38 Oil leak - Help with parts id (Pic included)

Hi I have an oil leak, no shock I'm sure. I've included a photo which shows circled in red where one oil leak is coming out from. I'm thinking of just pinching the bolts (circled blue) up, but don't know what they would be called in Rave? Any other advice is welcome, I'm not a...

    Alarm Flasher Fuse?

Ok I done exactly what you said and the alarm never sounded. I now 99.99% sure the whole alarm system is off almost like its not installed at all! There are no error messages on the display etc - where do I begin? I've just replaced my fuse box, and that has made no difference as it wasn't...

How much Oil does a P38 4.6 need when changing

    P38 V8 2000rpm on startup

Ok looks like the garage are going to have to reset that voltage thing. Have checked all the physical stuff and left battery disconnected and still no joy. Interestingly though if I disconnect the idle control valve the car still gets to 2000rpm but it takes like 10 minutes or so instead...

v8 coolant on inlet manifold gasket???

Just thought to finish the post off I would report that refitting a new manifold gasket has resolved my water leak issue. And to further increase my miracleness it was done without disconnecting the LPG - just a whole lot of wiggling! Cheers.

    P38 V8 2000rpm on startup

Hi I've just finished putting the motor back together after a head gasket change and now I have a problem, when the engine starts it revs at 1500rpm and then slowly climbs and stays at 2000rpm within 30 seconds. Now I popped a spring out of the throttle linkage and aren't to sure I've got it...

v8 coolant on inlet manifold gasket???

Ok - so now I just need to know which of the twelve holes are water ones? blackvoguebeauty - The manifold bolts were taken out which allowed enough room to wiggle the heads out (once the alternator and bracket etc were off as well). I don't like gas - can't see it - don't touch it! Hylomar is...

v8 coolant on inlet manifold gasket???

yes the two small pipes are on the plenum and tight. i take it you mean the 6 square holes either side of the valley gasket? - I thought these were for fuel? but then as I said I'm no mechanic. I've seen glues and things used on gaskets before but I would be really supprised if the seal on...
