Hi all.
I'm slowly working through my 109 series 3 ex-mod. Cleaning and painting.
I have done most of it now with a matt NATO green BS285 from a company called britanic.
It is the worst paint I have ever come across. The finish looks OK but it scratches as soon as you touch it with a cloth and...

Thanks all for your responses
Probably being over cautious here.

That is exactly what my mate said (a mechanic of 30years plus) he said it’s probably designed to sit lower to allow for a heavy load on the rear leaf springs and allow the prop to move up.

Sage advice there thanks very much.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t making a big boo-boo

Would it be a bad idea to pack the gearbox mounting wedges up with some large washers? I’m not sure wether to be to worried I can still fit my hand under the prop but just wondering should it sit centred in that hole?

Mounts are not new but are in great shape. No squashing or cracking.

Nope not messed with them at all

Thanks so much for all the info on here gents.
had exactly the same issue on mine since I bought it about 8 months ago. couldn't believe the fix was so simple.
had to sand down one of the shafts it was so furred and rusted up. I whacked it a couple of times with a hammer to get it going then...

Yeah fingers seem a little uneven on the pressure plate. My Hanes manual said it was clutch rather than gear box. What should I look for in the hydraulics there doesn’t appear to be any leaks. Probably just needs bleeding.
Here is the pressure plate. It appears to be a bork and beck 9 1/2” I...

Now I’m thinking it probably has a diahatsu pressure plate fitted as it fits perfectly to the flywheel and a LR clutch plate. I’ll post some further pictures for advice on the pressure plate. Problem I’m having is grinding as going in to gear as if clutch is not depressed properly. Also...
