    Paint recommendation for nato green

Hi all. I'm slowly working through my 109 series 3 ex-mod. Cleaning and painting. I have done most of it now with a matt NATO green BS285 from a company called britanic. It is the worst paint I have ever come across. The finish looks OK but it scratches as soon as you touch it with a cloth and...

    Rear prop position series 3

That is exactly what my mate said (a mechanic of 30years plus) he said it’s probably designed to sit lower to allow for a heavy load on the rear leaf springs and allow the prop to move up.

    Rear prop position series 3

Would it be a bad idea to pack the gearbox mounting wedges up with some large washers? I’m not sure wether to be to worried I can still fit my hand under the prop but just wondering should it sit centred in that hole?

    Rear prop position series 3

Hello Land Rover afficianadoes. I’ve just been rebuilding my series 3 and after fitting the gearbox I have put in the rear prop but it just looks quite close to the bottom of the cut out from the chassis.(see pictures) is this normal or should it sit in the center of the cut out hole? I can just...

    Diahatsu DG engine/clutch question.

Yeah fingers seem a little uneven on the pressure plate. My Hanes manual said it was clutch rather than gear box. What should I look for in the hydraulics there doesn’t appear to be any leaks. Probably just needs bleeding. Here is the pressure plate. It appears to be a bork and beck 9 1/2” I...

    Diahatsu DG engine/clutch question.

Now I’m thinking it probably has a diahatsu pressure plate fitted as it fits perfectly to the flywheel and a LR clutch plate. I’ll post some further pictures for advice on the pressure plate. Problem I’m having is grinding as going in to gear as if clutch is not depressed properly. Also...

    Diahatsu DG engine/clutch question.

Hello again. I finally found the time to lift the gearbox out and take the clutch apart. Here are some pictures of the wear plate. Does anyone know if this is Land Rover or diahatsu???

    Diahatsu DG engine/clutch question.

Here is the gear box... Also should I be concerned the way it’s married up to the bell housing or irks this standard practice for the DG conversions?

    Diahatsu DG engine/clutch question.

For what reason would it need to be heavy duty? Also do you have an illustration of what to weld to bolster the clutch arm?
