What did you do with your Range Rover today

Went for an MOT - all good, advisory for parking brake ?? Anyway, the ball joints are all good, so I won't be doing that job again in a hurry. Prepping the car today for a 500 mile round trip during half term holiday. Seems everyone is checking stuff at the mo !

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Changed the lower front nearside ball joint. I knew it was going to be a pig, but the MOT required it, as it had a split rubber. Anyway, a 6 hour job, 2 hours of which was spent heating various parts up and whacking them with a lump hammer or trying to stop the threads turning as I tried to undo...

Nanocom - EKA and Fob codes

Ok, been through the car with all the Nanocom menus - all good at the moment - HEVAC has some issues, but that would be because I have disconnected half of it !! No faults anywhere else apart from my earlier mentioned airbag issue. So, my next question is - where is the airbag ECU on a 97 4.6 ...

Nanocom - EKA and Fob codes

Aah, thanks, that explains some of it. I am guessing, I may still have my original BECM then, as I think I am right in saying the replacement ones came unlocked ? Hopefully my original EKA code will still be current - is there any way of checking it, once I have it from LR ?

Nanocom - EKA and Fob codes

Ok Thanks. I think I have the unlock codes as all other functions seem to be fine. I guess I will be going to LR tomorrow with my docs ! I will keep playing - faulty airbag ECU might be the original problem and then the non-read issue on top ! Typical !!

Nanocom - EKA and Fob codes

Hi all, just taken delivery of my Nanocom and I have a couple of questions that I thought someone who has one already, might be able to help with. Firstly, my EKA box in the alarm section is empty - do I need to get it from the stealer or can I read it from the car and input it myself or can...

BECM not going to sleep ( it's not the r/f receiver )

Thanks for that - apparently anyone who downloads their app gets a 10% discount and its free delivery on top - just waiting for an email back. Battery I was looking at is 130Ah and 1000cca for £90 delivered including the 10% off. Reference the battery drain - as the key in ignition message goes...

BECM not going to sleep ( it's not the r/f receiver )

Ok, run through the above - definitely no light on the gear selector unless ignition is on - but the key in ignition message goes out, as it should - the mistake I was making was leaving the bonnet open ! I think I will put a new battery in to eliminate that particular aspect of my head...

BECM not going to sleep ( it's not the r/f receiver )

Reconnected everything around the r\f and checked for the faint glow from the auto selector area when locked - nothing. Is it an LED ? Where exactly should I be looking ? btw, the central locking is only locking ALL of the doors some of the time - I suspect this might be part of the problem ...

BECM not going to sleep ( it's not the r/f receiver )

Ok, thanks for the quick reply - if I disconnect the electrical supply from the r/f receiver so it can't do anything at all, will that help ? I live in the middle of nowhere and rarely bother locking the car anyway. The key in message does indeed go when it is removed, but I read that with the...

BECM not going to sleep ( it's not the r/f receiver )

Hi all, I have a 97 4.6 P38. I have had the car a few weeks and knew it had a few gremlins. The first thing I did was check to see if the blue r/f receiver aerial wire was disconnected - it was and the remote locking still works as it should, provided I am close enough of course. The BECM is...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Not exactly today - yesterday. I took apart everything I needed to, to access the faulty blend motors. I replaced the front armrest screw that had worked loose. I removed the subwoofer and Cd changer as they weren't connected - the sub will go back in once I have a crossover. Car has had a full...
