hi,
after a bit of info anyone know if a defender or disco steering box drop arm will fit on a P38 steering box?
basically looking for a longer steering arm to fit a P38 pas box
cheers
-
yeah i could do that but i was thinking there might be a known measurement already that wouldn't be subject to any measuring errors
but i have since found out it is the same as the anti roll bar link

hi can anyone tell me the dimensions of the taper on the steering bar Track Rod End on the discovery and defender its part number RTC5869 and RTC5870
i know the thread is 11/16" and the nut to hold it on is M12 but its the size and degrees of the taper i'm after so i'd be able to have a part...

p38 box with series 3 axle standard 300 pump
-
well the other vehicles are a disco and a range rover with 300's and factory boxes- will they be too hard to steer?
mine is really light with the pas you can easily turn it with 1 finger
-
whys that james? mines a series with a pas conversion when i 1st had it running i drove it without the pas pump and it was roughly the same as the old series steering
-
we are doing a long trip with a few land rovers running 300tdi's we were talking over spares to take we were thinking about a spare pas pump but then thought if we had a pas pump seize could we just fit a shorter belt and leave the pas off?
just a get us back home idea
the idea being carrying a...

quick question will 16 X 8" wide with -35ET fit under the standard arches on a defender
and if anyone has a picture of one with them fitted i'd appreciate it you could post it
and if they do fit what tyres did you fit on them
cheers :)

impressive work, i can't see a problem, your doing such a well engineered job i can't see it failing at all, the pas motor part is the most likely failure but that's irrelevant if it fails as you will still have full steering control
The only thing you have altered is the splines/joints it's...

me? i used a normal one just a pay as you go

i'll not say where i fitted mine but put it this way put it where you most want it and test it - you'd be surprised
some have a battery in but i guess the £11 one doesn't (also some are waterproof) if it doesn't have a battery they when they disconnect your battery it will stop it working...
-
yes you can but they wont leave it parked up with a signal blocker on they will only use that when they are driving in it
i'm not saying with a tracker you'll always get it back but it makes it a higher chance you will and at £11 + £5 for a PAYG sim you'd be kicking yourself if it got nicked...
-
get a tracker ive got one you can get them for under £20 (look on ebay) put a PAYG sim in it every time you ring it it texts back with the exact location, ive not had it in long but every time ive tested it it's been within a few yards
a lot of cars stolen to be stripped are often nicked and...
