I dont really go off road but I have a manual & do wish I got an auto I see some threads on mpg & such but not sure it's enough to make a difference or put me off. Man do I hate 1st & 2nd gear on a manual. Makes it quite the chore for me as I mostly drive short distances.

The ballast is usually the culprit are you sure it's the vehicle and not the lamp itself? Ie have you tried switching left to right etc

Do these have a gear selector/roll pin set up? Sounds very much like my Saab. First it was hard to get in gear, then I lost reverse, then 1st, then all gears. The split/roll pin snapped and couldn't select gears. Does it go into gear any easier with engine off?

Quick question on replacing my sport struts if I may. Do I need the standard struts off a facelift model or would for example a set off an 01 or 03 td4 fit on my 04 one. I know I need them off a td4 as they must be quite a bit heavier. Just unsure on the year range I can look for. Thanks...

Ah that's my problem then I didn't really force it very much. Not sure if it makes a difference but it is the 3dr. According to the original receipt the guard was added as an option from new along with driving lamps, metallic paint etc so i struggle to believe the seats have been banging about...
