hi matt dont know if this helps any, but had similar situation with my 97 v8 disco, ended up being two problems the wires to the fuel pump (easy to locate under plate in boot) were a bit dodgy plus fuel pump relay was faulty . one minute she was fine then she wwouldnt start for days changed...
