  • I've spent a fortune on the P38 I bought last March, still it keeps confounding me!! The message centre says the washer fluid is low....it's not of course. I fought the front bumper off (corroded to the chassis end), removed the washer bottle, changed the rear washer pump (it never worked) and removed the level sensor. It was sludged up and stuck to the guide rod. I cleaned it and refitted everything. Naturally the "*&%$" rear washer still didn't work and the message is still there!!!! I hope the washer is a blocked jet, but I've tried sourcing a washer sensor and they cost about £50 from a limited suppliers. The car has cost about £1000 in 6 months and still it torments me. It's got to go, so can I remove the error message by undoing the wiring? A stupid question but I've learnt to my cost that the BCC doesn't work in the most obvious way, I'm frightened to death of it. I can't justify another £50 to clear the message. Any ideas (still hope the rear washer is blocked....please)?
