I'm having this exact issue with my 2014 Sd4. 131000 miles. It had a full fluid change at 72k miles then every 10k miles when changing engine oil I drop the 3L or so which comes out of the autobox drain and replace it meaning it's getting just under 1/2 fluid change every 10k.
My shuddering...

I couldnt justify the cost of a new head, went for a refurbished on at around £700. Fitting tomorrow, fingers crossed!

New bolts and timing pins bought just to be on the safe side!

So Ive established that my injector seals and washers are not the cause of my rising oil level - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55667
Ive decided that I'll go for a refurbished cylinder head from: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-DI ... 0005.m1851
Ive looked and found this fairly helpful thread on...

£20 and you're on your way.

Any decent tool supply place. I had an old 100 litre one which packed up. Bought one of these to replace it
(Got it for about £130 locally with discount)
That with 10 metre hose and schutz gun can be yours for less than half the cost of a professional waxoil job and you'll always have it to...

Another one here!
Carrickfergus on the shore of Belfast Lough with my D2 Td5.

Can that display reverse camera too?

Compressor and schutz gun is the way to go, I use a 1 litre can on the gun and refill it from the 5 litre can kept warm in a sink full of hot water. Its got a spray nozzle for general use and a flexy lance about 18" long for doing inside the chassis.

Are you sure its a belt and not a warped exhaust manifold screeching? Makes a noise very similar to a slipping belt.

Interesting stuff indeed.
Just did an oil change on my classic Mini today and amazing how much thicker good old green 20W50 is compared to the 0W30, 5w30 watery stuff that modern engines like!

You're unlikely to get an exact match if doing DIY (I assume spraycan?). But it really doesnt matter that much as long as both wheels on the same side are the same colour a slight variation with the other 2 will never be noticed.
Autoglym wheel silver is not bad.

Mines a Td5 running 10W40 as recommended in the Haynes manual. -10 is not common here although I have had -12 on the digital display a couple of winters back and had +35 in France last year.

10w40 semi synthetic, was doing 10K changes but now on 136K miles so changing at 6k now.

I find mines very happy about the 65 mark, it will of course go much much faster but a happy cruising speed I find preferable, anything much over 70 and Im always thinking it could do with a 6th gear (manual box).
