When I did mine, I cut back to metal and fabricated pieces to 'join the dots' which a mate welded in for me. Its a bit Heath Robinson, but it worked. BTW, how is good old Utcheter? Been a long time since I was there.

+1 Discopol. Get a manual of some type, Haynes poss., and crack on with it. If one has gone, it's probably worth checking all four, before another one goes ping. Or 'HORRIBLE GRATING NOISE'

Interesting. My old one died about 6 months ago, R468DNS. I looked on Etray and found R470DNS. Didn't buy it tho'. DNS is a Glasgow reg, by this sea. Mine was a total rotbox!!!

This is all a bit posh, compared to my old days soldiering. It was just a tin of paint, a brush and off you go!

Dead right. I've got a D1 but I know how mad I would be if this happened. Etching VRM into the face would seem a good idea, but as has been pointed out, there is no supply without demand. Is there any way all the forums could work together on this?

I've got a 1 piece steel unit. Heavy, but tough, with recovery eyes and bow shackles on.

Changing the air filter will probably help, and a good service. So get yourself the Haynes manual as a guide. BTW it's not an ol leak, it's a power overflow.........:D

It'll be easier to change the T box oil while it's off, and check pop shafts and UJ's.

If it helps, your heater dials is probably a bulb gone.
