Hi im afraid I don't know what is under the wheel arch but my 2001 td4 has afuel pump in the tank as well as the one on the n/s inner wing its easy to get at its behind the plate under the back seat

Hi I wonder if anyone can help the powerfold mirrors on my 2001 td4 don't work any more ie they keep folding in on there own when I push them back in to place theres no resistance , obviously somethings broke just wondered if anyone has managed to fix any? or is it a matter of buying new ones...

hi my td4 had same problem turned out the fuel pump inside the n/side wing ;which seemed to be working ok ; was turning out less than 2 bar of pressure to the injector pump which needs all the pressure it can get as its a high pressure pump its self hope this helps.

hi seams to me it may be the head gasket a common fault with this engine if you continue to run it you will definatley knack it altogether ie big ends / crank/mains etc your best bet is to tow/trailer it to a decent mechanic where he will drain the sludgy oil from the engine flush it...

Hi same as the other guys said try changing the switches ;or swap the n/side window switch to the o/side see what happens as for the engine management light and poor running it could be that the fuel pump is not working at its proper pressure , mine had a simmilar problem then it stopped...

Yeh dead easy just unscrew the plastic nut but same as Harrold 4x4 says be carefull with the fuel lines and all will be fine oh by the way the sealing ring when re fitting can be a bit fiddly but nothing too taxing :)

ive had my freelander for 3 years now only probs i had was last year when i had to fit both fuel pumps within a month of each other, touch wood all is well as it was before the pump saga ,so yes its totaly reliable at 110,000 miles ,just look after it mate.:)

aye up every one just thought id let you know probs with crap running turned out to be the secondary fuel pump ;inner wing; and not the egr or turbo rubbers although cleaning the egr certainly hasnt hurt :

hi ive got similar probs with mine just had it checked out and apparently the secondary pump:inner wing; is at fault tofeed the high pressure pump it runs at 2bar mines only doing 1 and a half so im getting 1 on monday hope this helps
