Biggar was hoping something less serious.
Best way to check for each? I'm guessing a visual inspection for pump seal. Don't really want to take the head off just to inspect.

Just checking oil levels ect in my s3 diesel and found nothing in the radiator. I tipped about 1.5 litres of plain water in for now Looks like sombody tipped in fairy liquid.
It's been driving fine and acording to the temp gauge everything has been OK. It's never gone passed half way.

I'll take a look in a bit. It still stinks of smoke!
Shouldn't the fuses have blown beforehand which would have prevented the smoky cab?
Any ideas why this didn't happen? All the fuses are in place (no bolts or funny business)

It's not stamped or marked with any branding. Little worrying as it was bought from a local well know and reputable land rover parts shop :s.
Just had another glance behind the dash and noticed a little melted plastic on the connector to the heater blower also.

Hi all,
My usually boring commute into work with my 88" series 3 was interupted this morning buy the dashboard bursting into plumes of smoke.
When I eventually got to work it didn't stop when turned off and like a inexperienced landie own my toolbox was at home :(

I have been looking around for a local (birmingham) company to underseal my landie. Ive emailed a few companies and am thinking about the bloke below.

Hi again all,
On the way home tonight my 88" has started knocking in front left corner when on hard right hand lock.
Had a quick look but didnt see much of anything. Nothing has been changed recently so im guesing somthing is on the way out :(
Any ideas what to look for?
