Hi
I understand- but it’s not the first likely concern with his or my issue - for example my defender has been serviced and has no other issues - the engine is settled. I press my break the engine stops and the key does not stop it.
It’s not an issue of my engine burning it’s own fuel etc.....it...

Hi been in for a service, had it on a code reader and had the ignition switch changed. It’s back in Thursday for the drive belt and I’ll mention the ignition problem again. I had some advice that it was a wiring issue. It’s jusy annoying - the engine is running fine and not increasing revs or...

I’ll update ya - same if you find something drop me message

The only thing I have changed are the lights - all around and a new switch that came with the lights. The old switch was for a trailer also (indicator would flash and the trailer light would come on)...thought it might be related....might swop over again.

2.4 puma. Any help is great! Thanks

Cheers sounds sensible
What are You thoughts about the runaway comments?
-
My defender has done 67000. It seems a common problem but it’s different wiring issues. Some scary comments on here! I am driving still. A runaway does not need the ignition and it’s not about the electrics but other problems.....also rare! It’s easy to scare.

Hi
Let me know what he says....I had mine in and the garage changed the ignition switch. Did it again today! I’m going back anyway as I’m having a problem with the drive belt. So will be asking them to check wiring - someone informed me to check the break wiring.
-
Not a runaway either - this is an electrical fault. I have seen loads of people with a similar issue.....runaways are rare.

Hi
Don’t think the Puma has a solenoid - I had someone suggest a wiring problem....perhaps in the break lights

Hi
I have a another Puma problem! When I take the key out of the ignition the engine still runs until I put my foot in the break......has the ignition switch changed last week and it’s done it again! Any ideas please????

Hi
Any thoughts appreciated!
Had a mid service and now there is a leak of fluid from the transmition box - well it’s over the box under the car. Is this normal after a service or is there a problem?
Also the occcassional noises- sounds like a grinding noise when driving - comes and goes and is...

Thanks - I thought I might replace anyway just in case. Am I correct that the sensor is on the actuator? I’m new to all this! Could you tell me the part and also point me in the general direction to replace it? Appreciated B
