I have carpet and floor mats in my 2A and it helps a bit with the heat.

When you say going up hills i assume you mean when you accelerate.
Have you tried giving the carby a clean as there may be some dirt build up. May be starving for fuel.
Also check the base of the carby that there isn't any air being sucked in. I had this trouble once on another vehicle i had.

No doubt you would mate :(

My seriies 2A with a 2.25LT petrol has a burnt out valve.
I have never had to change the valves before so i am wondering if anybody could maybe walk me through it with a few pointers on how to reseat the valves.
I have removed and replaced the head before so that's no trouble just need tips with...

It all depends how you like to drive i suppose. Personally i use FWH a fair bit. When ever i am going through the bush i stick it in High 4 (yellow knob down) . The way i see it the vehicle was designed to be used in 4wd off roads so that's what i do.

I was in super cheap auto the other day and came across this stuff called wynns engine stop leak. It is supposed to add new life to old seal/gaskets and prevent your engine from leaking oil.
Has anybody ever used this stuff or anything similar?
And if so does it work ? and is there any draw...

Radio  ...........do you really need all that fancy stuff? :D

I don't have a link but i will have a look around for you mate.
The seat i use is the same style as all car seats around here as they are what is required by Australian standards.
-
The seat i use for my daughter is only desiged to be used with a lap belt. What it has ( as do all child seats in AUS) is a strap that goes from the top of the seat to a purpose built bracket that i have installed in the panel behind the seats.
If it wasn't safe i wouldn't do it mate ;)

I have retightened it and i replaced the O ring when i changed the filter. The oil seems to be coming from where it attaches to the block.
I am thinking of adding some gasket goo to the gasket and using a thicker oil and seeing how that goes.

I have a series 2A with the 2 1/4 LTR petrol engine.
The trouble i am having is there is oil leaking from around the oil filter. It appears to be coming from where it attaches to the block.
I am using castrol multigrade 15-W/40 oil in the engine. So should i replace the gasket or do you think...

you could just put the baby seat in the front middle seat and save yourself the hassle. That's what i have done. :)

Well the new rims are slightly wider than stock and i have been told that i would get a better ride with a wider tyre like a desert dueller or something similar.
In all curiosity what do you think would be the widest tyre the vehicle could handle without causing axle breakages?
-
Thanks for the reply.
What i was getting at with my original question is that i wanted a wider tyre but i do not want to add to much strain on the rear axles.
I have seen some really wide tyres on series Rovers but i would be hesitent in doing this myself as i don't want to be replacing axles...
