Thanks for reply.
Already fitted 245/75/16 which am very happy with looks and drive good.
Think 265 might look a bit wide though?

Thanks for replys.
Studded tyres will not be practical because once down the steep mile and half of road the roads are then ploghed gritted and kept in reasonable condition. I also think studded tyres are illeagal on french roads.
4 chains definitely seem to be the way ahead but will take...

I had the same problem last week.
Turned out to be some granny i had inadvertantly run down banging her walking stick on my chasis.
Seriously though no idea but hope somebody can help.

Hello
I live in the french alps and have a 97 disco with bfg a/t tyres.
My road is steep and covered in snow most of the winter so i have bought snow chains for the vehicle.
I have got into a bit of a debate with my neighbours as to whether it is best to fit to front or rear of vehicle...

I have just lifted my 97 disco by 1.5 inches with pro comp shocks and springs and 245/75 bf goodrich a/t tyres.
It drives great but when cornering sharply e.g at a roundabout it makes a loud clunking/creaking noise. I am wondering if this is the new shocks or springs wearing in or something...

Thanks for that. My other concern was the speedo being way out could this cause MOT failure?

Have just done a 1.5 inch lift to my 97 disco and am now looking to upgrade my standard sized tyres.
Does anybody know if 235/85/16 Bf goodrich A/T tyres will fit with no cutting required?

What is the largest size of BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres I can fit to my disco with no modifications?

Have driven both and either will suit my needs, as i have just moved into a house up a steep track in the Alps France. The vehicle will be used mostly for short journeys i.e up to 30 mins at time.
I bought a 1989 Defender 90 TD last winter for £500 but when i took it to a land rover...

Thanks for that.
Having looked around the defenders seem to fetch more money than a disco of equivelent milage and age. Is that normal?

Hi
Am looking to buy either a post '96' disco 300tdi or a post '96' defender 300tdi.
What will give me more value in terms of servicing costs, fuel economy, spare parts and reliability.
Cheers
