Hi all, having recently returned to the fold after a few years of defection I need to find a garage in the Wolverhampton area that I can take my 2002 Disco II for fault diagnosis, maintenance, repair, service etc. I no longer have the facilities to do much work myself so if anyone has any...

Disco keeps cutting out and in and out and in.........

Thanks all for the suggestions. Got totally ****ed off with it and left it where it broke down last week. Went back to it Thursday with jump leads having killed the battery and it went first time. It appears to have lost its last problem, you can now rev as high as you like and it's fine...

Disco keeps cutting out and in and out and in.........

As far as I can make out the pump is mechanical taking its drive from the belt assembly on the front of the engine that drives the alternator, power steering pump etc. I don't think it's dirt anywhere, but will check tank, filter etc. It seems to be too consistent to be an intermittent blockage...

Disco keeps cutting out and in and out and in.........

We have a problem with a 1996 'N' reg diesel Disco. We have recently had the fuel stop solenoid replaced due to the car cutting out or not wanting to start at various times. This appears to have solved this particular problem, but just over a week later another has reared its ugly head. At...

    Electric rear windows don't work!

Have eventually got round to messing about with switches and things and have some interesting results. Sometimes back windows work and sometimes not. When they work, all appropriate switches do as they were intended and all is well with the world. When they don't work, well they simply don't...

    Electric rear windows don't work!

There is an intermitent fault with the rear electric windows on our 'N' reg disco. Most of the time they don't work, but then occasionaly they decide to perform as they should. I have taken the panel apart with the switches in and as far as I can tell there is a fault with the supply to the...

    Drag Link Balljoint Thread

Hi Dale, not taken a Disco drag link / track rod apart, but used to do a lot of work on them a few years ago for 90 / 110's R/rovers etc. The ball joints are interchangeable between track rod and drag link. If you have a look at the ends of the rods where the ball joints screw in to them, one of...

    Default Radio Code?

Yep, Yella Disco's not wrong. Ford charge about 14 quid plus VAT to access the main Ford database and give you a printout with the security code on.

    Are all 300Tdi's like this?

As far as being a mondeo man at heart is concerned, I have owned a SIII 2.25 petrol and still own a 2 door 3.5 V8 Range Rover, although I took it apart about six years ago to put some sills on for the m.o.t. and got a bit carried away, but when it's finished it will be the dogs! Although at the...

    Are all 300Tdi's like this?

The service book looks like Droitwich Land Rover have been responsible for the servicing and maintainance of the vehicle for a long time, so yes I will get in touch with them and see if they can be af any help.

    Are all 300Tdi's like this?

Thanks to the folks who advised against the buying of a 2.0Mpi. As a result, we now own a 1996 Discovery with a 300Tdi under the bonnet. The engine has been replaced at some point with a reconditioned unit from the factory. We don't know when the unit was replaced and so don't know how many...
