if you can't get a complete box the bell housings are interchangeable.

Have a look at the engine & gearbox mounts if these have failed or got badly oil contaminated they can cause this sort of effect too

the pins are supposed to be peened into place this basically means hammering the end to spread it out - this will both make it a good fit in the hole and hold it firm

from lugging them around on engine hoists i don't think there's a great deal of difference in weight and their both bloody heavy compared to a rover v8
