Pulled up at the chunnel to go to France last night and white smoke starts pouring out of the exhaust, still running fine loads of power etc. Took off the expansion tank lid and gas is bubbling away merrily so have ordered a head gasket and all the bits including replacement bolts. Not quite what I had planned for the weekend but....

If it goes as well as the pair I had to do on the V8:cool: I'll be done in half a day.

thankfully not got to go to far this trip all based around Calais and it's used only about 2 pints so far.

At least the parts are not to spendy.

And just to put a nice finish on it as i parked up this morning the brakes started to grind so new pads to do as well.:(

:) After finally getting home in the early hours of Saturday due to the tunnel closure, started the head gasket replacement about 1pm.

Other than a slight problem with not having a torque wrench socket combo that fitted under the bulkhead to do the back two bolts, everything went very smoothly, by 8pm everything was bolted back up and she's running sweet again.
