Freelander 1 Starter Motor Removal, help please!!

It had 145km/90m when I bought it in 2012 & it's now up to 318km/197m. Don't know if it was done by previous owners but I doubt it as there was no mods done to it when I got it that I could see except for general servicing, could be wrong. It's my daily runner, start on average 4 times a day...

Freelander 1 Starter Motor Removal, help please!!

Many many thanks @Arctic2 I copped late last night that I was at the wrong bolts, but I could not find the top bolt until I took off the manifold which I wouldn't have figured out without your help & pictures. I've attached a picture of the worn contact just to show how far gone it was & I am...

Freelander 1 Starter Motor Removal, help please!!

Hi Guys, been a long time since I posted but I'm still trudging away with the Hippo & kept her going largely thanks to the advice & threads on here. However, now I'm stumped! I have the clicking noise when starting so I decided to do the solenoid repair. I am stumped by how I'm going to get off...

    3dr roof bar fixings

A scrapyard! I had awful trouble getting the mounting blocks because landrover don't sell them individually, not in Ireland anyway. I eventually got them from a scrapyard where the bars were broken, so he was happy to get rid of the mounting blocks and make some money from it.

    Brake light switch

Hi Barry, Read through the break light replacement thread which is sticky'd on top. When I did the switch my brake-lights did not come on when 3 amigos were on. Upgrading switch did the trick on my 2005 td4.

    Spare wheel bracket problem

Hi all, Got a bike rack, the type that bolts in behind spare wheel. Was a bit tatty when I got it so stripped back the holder and treated it. Very happy with myself. Went to remove spare wheel, nuts were very stiff, got two off with a bit of force, 3rd I really had to push when, the bolt...

    Brake lights

Earthing problem maybe, check earthing points behind panels in storage area. Do a search as well, plenty of answers, I had problems with lights, turned out to be the wires had corroded and split.

I bought it, but on the way home the brake lights stopped working

Try the earthing points behind the side panels in the back, clean and reattach, check the build holders for corrosion, clean & spray with WD40 aswell

Face lift headlight guards no longer available

The plastic ones can still be got online, for between £30 & £40, do a search for the part number VUB501390 There was a pair on my facelift, but one blew off a month ago, my young fella says my landy looks like a pirate with a patch so I've been meaning to get a new pair as well!

    srs light

I had that during the summer & did same as you, checking connectors etc. For a finish I was collecting a work van from bosses mechanic and asked him would he plug into it for me. He did, cleared all the faults and it hasn't come on since, wouldn't even take money off me for it, passed the test...

    Half Shaft Seal part numner

Not a lot of experience other then what I've read here. The popular consensus seems to be that if you have the gearbox off and your replacing the slave to get the clutch and the DMF done as well. Hopefully it'll be ok, as the mechanic said, it seems fine, not much play, it could go tomorrow or...

    Half Shaft Seal part numner

Finally got sick of bleeding out the clutch every week so handed it over to the mechanic to open her up and take a look. New clutch and slave cylinder needed, yippee! He also says I need a new "left hand half shaft seal" as the current one is leaking, going from gearbox to IRD. I said...
